Website delivery and security

When you visit this site, technical request data may be processed, including IP address, timestamp, requested URL, user-agent, referrer, and related security signals.

Cloudflare, Inc. provides content delivery and security services. These services process technical request data to deliver the website and detect or prevent malicious traffic. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR: my legitimate interest in operating a reliable, secure website.

Security records are retained for detecting and investigating abuse, resolving security incidents, and meeting applicable legal obligations. The retention period depends on the service and the type of record; Cloudflare describes its retention criteria in its privacy policy.

Contact enquiries

If you submit the contact form, Formspree, Inc. receives your name, email address, message, and technical request data such as your IP address and browser information. Formspree processes and stores the submission and forwards it to me by email. Email service providers also process the correspondence to deliver and store messages. If you contact me directly by email, I receive your email address, message, and any other information you choose to send.

I use this information to respond to your enquiry. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR when you request steps towards a contract with me, and Article 6(1)(f) GDPR for other correspondence: my legitimate interest in responding to people who contact me. Providing these details is voluntary, but the form requires a name, email address, and message so I can receive and answer your enquiry.

I keep enquiry records while dealing with your request and any necessary follow-up. Once the enquiry is closed and no further correspondence is needed, I delete the records, including copies in my email inbox and Formspree, unless a legal obligation requires retention or the records are necessary to establish, exercise, or defend a legal claim. Records retained for these reasons are kept only for the applicable legal period or while needed for that claim.

Fonts and external scripts

The Inter and Space Grotesk font files are served from this website. Loading these fonts does not send requests or visitor data to Google.

This site loads the Marked library for displaying project descriptions from jsDelivr at cdn.jsdelivr.net. This request happens automatically when the script is loaded. jsDelivr receives your IP address, the requested resource, and request headers such as browser information and the referring site's address. jsDelivr is operated by Volentio JSD Limited and uses content delivery providers. Cloudflare Web Analytics

Cloudflare Web Analytics measures website usage and loading performance. Its browser script sends information such as the page address, referring page, page-load identifier, browser and device characteristics, and loading timings to Cloudflare. This measurement does not use analytics cookies or browser storage to recognise visitors across visits. Cloudflare states that it discards the connection's IP address at its edge and does not store that address in its analytics databases or logs.

Cloudflare retains unsampled measurements for seven days and keeps sampled data for longer-term reporting. Reports for the previous six months are available to the site owner. See Cloudflare's description of the measurements and its analytics retention information.

Processing outside the EEA

The providers described above operate internationally, so data may be processed outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Cloudflare's data processing addendum provides for EU Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable. Formspree states that it uses US infrastructure and relies on Standard Contractual Clauses as a processor. These safeguards address international transfers; they do not constitute your consent to optional processing. You can contact me for information about the safeguards applicable to your data and to request a copy.

Cookies and storage

This site does not use advertising cookies or marketing pixels. Cloudflare's security services may use cookies such as cf_clearance to remember a security check and prevent repeated challenges. Their lifetime depends on the security feature and configuration. See Cloudflare's cookie information. The site itself does not store contact-form entries in your browser.

Your rights

Where applicable, you can request access to, correction or deletion of your personal data, restriction of processing, and data portability. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests for reasons relating to your particular situation.
